Our classes
All our classes are open and suitable for everyone.
Regardless of whether you are completely new to yoga or have been doing it for a while, you will find that our classes are for you.
You will find several different forms of yoga with us, but essentially the distinction is between dynamic yoga, such as Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow, and the calmer forms such as Yin and restorative yoga.
You can read more about these forms of yoga, as well as other classes we offer,

A warm welcome to Romsdal Yoga.
Vinyasa Flow
Just like in Ashtanga yoga, Vinyasa yoga is about movement and breathing together. Here we move smoothly through the positions and build strength from the ground upwards.
The classes are adapted to all levels, and you can vary the positions so that they suit your body.
Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic, breath-based yoga flow where we work with both balance and strength, and flexibility.
Each class has a theme that guides us through different postures while we connect breathing and movement. Classes begin with simple breathing techniques to increase presence and calmness.
Ashtanga Mysore
This is the class for those who want good follow-up. Here you can come as a complete beginner, you can also gradually learn little by little at your own pace. Mysore style is the traditional way of learning Ashtanga yoga, in this class everyone does their own practice at their own pace. The teacher goes around helping and giving support when needed. If you are completely new, the first few times you will learn the sun salutation and some standing positions, and from there you will gradually learn more and more positions. You also get a good introduction to breathing and always as much time as you want to rest at the end. This is really the class for those who want or need good time and good follow-up. Perfect for those who have injuries or other special considerations, but who still want to learn dynamic yoga and breathing.
Guided-Ashtanga
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic style of yoga where you move in a calm flow from position to position.
We work our way through the whole body and dissolve tensions. The instructor orally guides you through parts of the first series in Ashtanga yoga and we always end with relaxation.
In this class, the tempo is somewhat higher than our other dynamic classes, but it is perfectly fine to join even if you are new to yoga.
The instructor takes the group into account and makes suggestions for adaptations and modifications. The class ends with relaxation.
Yin yoga
Yin yoga is a more gentle and meditative form of yoga.
Here you mostly lie down or sit on good woolen mats, and the positions are held much longer.
Along with good breathing exercises, you learn to rest in the positions so that deep tensions in the whole body can be released. A lovely break from everyday life.
You can borrow all the equipment you need from us.

Restorativ yoga
Restorative Yoga is about creating a space to disconnect and dare to rest. After a calm warm-up with a focus on breathing, we go through 4-5 positions that are supported with yoga blocks, bolsters, blankets or a yoga belt. The class ends with Yoga Nidra ("yogicsleep"), a guided meditation. The focus is relaxation and anchoring in body and mind.

Guided meditation
During this class you have your eyes closed a lot. We take the opportunity to stop, collect ourselves and turn our focus inward. Walking, sitting or lying down. You are guided through meditations and back to silence and your inner power. This class is truly for everyone. You can come as you are and practice going about your day with less reaction and more action. Conscious and peaceful.
Barsel yoga
This course is for the mother/father and the baby. We recommend that you have been at the 6-week check-up and that the baby has not started crawling. The main focus of the course is on the mother. Here you learn exercises that are adapted to the body after birth. Yoga is very beneficial for dissolving and preventing tension in the whole body, we work especially with the area around the shoulders/neck. You also learn good breathing exercises and rest techniques that can be a support during a period when the body needs extra rest and recovery. The course is a mixture of exercises from Ashtanga yoga and exercises from Yin yoga. The baby lies in front of or next to the mat, while the mother does yoga. We have good wool blankets for the baby to lie on.
Our experience is that the little ones often become calm when they see their mother moving and breathing. And it's warm and comfortable in the room. Although the main focus is on the mother, you are there for the baby's premises and you constantly do exactly what you have to in order to meet the little one's needs along the way. If you have to change, you can just do that and the same if you have to give food.
Romsdal yoga is located on the second floor without a lift, feel free to bring your car seat or pram up.
